About the Commission
The Muncie Police Merit Commission is a five-person panel made up of appointment from the Mayor (two), City Council (one), and active members of the police department (two). These individuals deal with numerous aspects of the police department including hiring, promotions, discipline, and department structure.
Meetings
The panel meets in the City Hall Auditorium the first and third Thursday of every month at 6 p.m.
