Muncie Loves Parks
We have 28 City Parks including Prairie Creek Reservoir with 1252 acres of water + 750 acres of land. Prairie Creek includes a beach, camping, fishing, kayaking, boating, hiking, dirt bike trails, a sailing and equestrian club and much more. Muncie also is a jogging or bicycling lovers’ dream location. We are home to the longest rail-trail system in Indiana, The Cardinal Greenway, which measures 62 miles long. This greenway has tap-in locations from neighborhoods all across Muncie so that residents can get almost anywhere in town, whenever they wish to. Many of these travel along the scenic White River. Muncie is also home to the longest continually running triathlon event in the USA beginning in 1980.
Muncie has many activities to enjoy. Muncie is home to the second largest Children’s Museum in Indiana and the Headquarters of The Academy of Model Aeronautics which hosts many National and International Model events yearly. Minnetrista Cultural Center, located in central Muncie, boasts a 40 acre campus of trails, museums, concert locations and gardens. We also have the Muncie Symphony, Muncie Civic Theatre, Madjax, DWNTWN, Emens Auditorium, David Owsley Museum of Art, Ball State University and Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
