Prairie Creek offers stunning water views from our campsites! The sun sets right across the water from our both Primitive and RV campgrounds.
The RV North Shore campground offers 30 AMP electric and water hook-up, with a dump station available. These sites are for RV/travel trailers only. Tents are not permitted in the North Shore Campground. The stay for RVS is for 14 days in a 30 day period.
Our primitive campsites are located strictly on the South Shore, which offers a beautiful view of the natural water landscape without modern amenities. It has vault restrooms in close proximity for your convenience. The stay is limited to 7 days in a 30 day period.
Our campground season runs from April 1-October 31. Reservations must be made with the park office. Payment is taken at the time of reservation. Prairie Creek does not offer refunds, but is willing to reschedule within the current camping season if canceled BEFORE the check-in date.
Daily Rate - $30.00 (including tax)
Prairie Creek offers seasonal campsites as well. However, with a high demand for each site, there is a system in which the available campsites are offered to the public. Current site holders are invoiced and have first option to renew the lease. Similar to the dock slips, there is a “lottery” that is started in January of that year. Where to enter the lottery can be found on this website. After the due date, any unpaid sites are put on the availability list. After staff has gone through paperwork to find out how many campsites are available we then choose a date to hold the lottery. The names are pulled out of the lottery at random, if your name is pulled out you will be contacted by staff.
In order to obtain a seasonal site, a few requirements must be met. First, the RV/travel trailer on the site must be titled and registered to the lease holder of the campsite. Secondly, all lease holders and spouses must past a background check prior to signing the lease.
Seasonal Campsite Fee - $1,450.00 (this fee includes 1 golf cart permit, an additional golf cart permit can be issued for an additional $100.00)
Prairie Creek also offers rentable overnight cabins. The cabins are furnished with electric, air conditioning, dinette and beds that will sleep approximately 4 adults comfortably. You must bring your own linens. There is absolutely no smoking or pets permitted in the cabins. The minimum age to rent a cabin is 21. A cabin rental agreement must be signed and driver’s license presented at every check-in. There is a $20 CASH key deposit required when checking in and refunded at check out. The rate is $75.00 (including tax) per night. Reservations can be made at the office. A 2-night minimum is required for all weekends. Some holidays require more.
Please see the campground rules and map below. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions section to answer any other questions you may have.
Golf carts are permitted with a purchased permit. $5 a day or $100 for the year. Off road vehicles are not permitted to be driven on campground roadways.
Prairie Creek has four daily rentable shelters. They are available from April through October. They are in various locations around the park. Each shelter is furnished electricity and picnic tables. The rate is $54 a day plus tax. Reservations can be made at the park office.
On the southeast side of Prairie Creek, there are newly developed multi-use trails that offer miles of natural terrain and beautiful water views. With the help of Mid-Indiana Trails, they have made it possible to make Prairie Creek a destination spot for mountain bike enthusiasts. These trails are made possible by grants and volunteers. They are free of charge for everyone to enjoy! Please remember, these are for bicycles or hiking only. No motorized vehicles are allowed!
Prairie Creek offers off-road trails for the whole family to enjoy. From introductory to advanced, there are trails to meet the level of anyone in your group. Street legal vehicles (Jeeps, Trucks, etc.) are NOT permitted. Each year, a waiver must be signed prior to riding. Waivers and permits can be purchased at the office for $5 a day or $25 annually. Riding is only allowed between dawn and dusk. All off-road vehicles must be registered with the state. All state laws apply. Please note, these trails are ride at your own risk and Prairie Creek is not responsible for accidents that may occur.
Most of the west side of Prairie Creek is designed with our horse enthusiasts in mind. Miles of waterside and wooded trails are available to ride on with a daily or annual permit. Prairie Creek also has a campground on the northwest side for horse trailers only. It offers 30 AMP hook up and water with hitching posts. The nightly rate is $30.00. Reservations can be made at the park office..

About Prairie Creek
Prairie Creek makes owning a boat more convenient than ever. We offer 740 dock slips, 58 mooring slips and 16 flotation slips. This enables you to leave your boat in the water from May to October! However, since Prairie Creek is one of few reservoirs in the area that offer this amenity, there is an extremely high demand for slips. The park has a system in which makes the process most fair for everyone to obtain a dock for the season.
If you lease a dock the previous year, you will get invoiced for the dock and have the option to keep the dock you had before. If the fees are not paid by the due date, that dock is then available for those that entered the lottery.
In order to obtain a dock, the boat registered to the dock must be the title holder of the boat. Proof of registration may be required upon lease signing. Subleasing is strictly prohibited.
Muncie Sailing Club
Prairie Creek is also home to the Muncie Sailing Club. They offer seasonal docks for sailboats as well. Please visit www.sail-msc.com for more information.
